£80m Target Decides He Wants To Join Man Utd

The summer transfer window is fast approaching and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Jose Mourinho has been handed a major boost as Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has decided he wants to join Manchester United this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Mourinho is in the market for at least one new midfielder as Michael Carrick will retire at the end of the season while Marouane Fellaini is yet to sign an extension with his current deal expiring in June.

Milinkovic-Savic has emerged as a key target in recent months with widespread reports suggesting that United are plotting a big-money swoop for the youngster this summer.

The 23-year-old has forged a reputation as one of the hottest talents in European football since joining Lazio from Genk in 2015 and he’s provided 13 goals and 9 assists from midfield so far this season.

That sort of form has led to interest from all over Europe with TeamTalk claiming that the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have joined United in tracking Milinkovic-Savic ahead of the summer.

However, it looks like Mourinho has been handed a major boost as TeamTalk are citing a report from the Metro that claims the Serbian international has set his sights on joining United.

The report says Milinkovic-Savic is ready to snub the advances of other European giants in order to join United as he wants to link-up with compatriot Nemanja Matic at Old Trafford next season.

This follows-on from reports from last weekend [via the Sun] that claimed Mourinho was ready to use his relationship with Milinkovic-Savic’s agent to get a deal agreed with the midfielder represented by former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman.

Lazio are obviously desperate to keep hold of the young starlet but TeamTalk suggest they will reluctantly cash-in if around £88m [€100m] is put on the table this summer.

We’ll have to wait and see if United are prepared to pay that kind of money but they have the finances to meet Lazio’s asking price and I think Milinkovic-Savic would be a hugely exciting signing for United if they managed to pull it off.
