Manchester United transfer news: Ousmane Dembele targeted by Jose Mourinho with Dortmund wonderkid set to cost £50m
Red Devils hope to snare French striker this summer but could move for Ivan Perisic if deal cannot be done
JOSE MOURINHO wants to test Borussia Dortmund’s resolve to hang on to teen star Ousmane Dembele.
But Manchester United could have to pay up to £50million for the France forward after his eye-catching breakthrough this season.
Dembele, 19, turned down United, Chelsea, Arsenal and a host of other European clubs to join the German side from Rennes last year.

Dembele’s belief that he had a better chance of playing at Dortmund, a club renowned for giving youngsters a chance, has been rewarded.
The France international has confirmed his potential in spades, scoring twice in Dortmund’s run to the Champions League quarter finals.
Only a huge bid would persuade Dortmund even to think of letting another talented young player move on to a so-called bigger club, especially after only one season.
And if the Bundesliga side refuse to consider offers for Dembele, United have another option in Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian, 28, ditched his representative to sign with super-agent Pini Zahavi and his Balkans expert Fali Ramadani — as exclusively revealed by SunSport last month.
Ramadani’s company, Lian Sports, has now confirmed Perisic as a client and the agents believe they can land a £100,000-a-week Old Trafford contract for the 55-cap star.
The Special One successfully worked with Mijatovic, the former Real Madrid player and sporting director, on a number of previous transfers involving players from the Balkans, including Real Madrid’s signing of Luka Modric and Chelsea’s re-purchase of Nemanja Matic.
Snatching Dembele would be a bigger statement and a longer-term investment for United. But Perisic is a more realistic target and an experienced player in his prime.
